Babe wake up, new Ben Cuan transit piece just dropped. Love the passion behind staying up to date on bay area transit developments, very cool.

As a young person who doesn't have a family that needs space etc., personally I aim to keep my work commute limited to 30 minutes or less. I live about 3 miles away from work and normally drive. Without traffic it takes 12 or so minutes (although typically there *is* traffic so it becomes closer to 20 minutes). I'm in the Palo Alto/Mountain View area.

Inspired by your post, I looked into the transit lines available near me. According to Google, without any traffic + assuming I reach the stops right as the bus arrives, the commute time is 30 minutes (7 on bus along El Camino, then 23 minutes of walking) with 15-20 minute headway during rush hours). I have yet to do it but might try it out. Accounting for waiting for the bus + rush hour traffic, my guess is the commute will be around 45 minutes. Candidly the prospect doesn't seem that attractive to me as most of the walking will be along wide swathes of asphalt and poorly lit sidewalks.

ayyy tenzin is here !!! ive made it big yall

glad u found out the bus doesn't work for you though. but imagine how nice that commute would be if the walk were through a park/trail/shopping area or something, and the bus were actually reliable! we're still far away from that dream, but not as far as one might think 🙃
